Boston is a huge fan of trains so we went to the State Fairgrounds where we had previously staked out a great little playground that looked like a train. It was fun to hear his train whistle noise ("woo woo") and see how excited he got when he heard a real nearby train whistle.

More to come in a few weeks after the viewing session.

Doug & Molly Teaser

Posted by posted by Kevin Barber Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at

As we have been getting ready for Doug and Molly's second part of their engagement session (we did a short outdoor session earlier in September), we realized we had not posted a teaser. With so many good portraits to choose from, it was a difficult decision. So, short of blindly throwing darts at the screen (suction cup darts, of course), we decided on this portrait.

In this brief moment, just after we started this session, you can see how affectionate and fun this couple is. We look forward to showing you the rest of the images we captured that day and from their upcoming session at the ISU campus.

Kira's Senior Portraits

We took Kira's Senior portraits about a month ago. She had our premier session which includes studio portraits along with several outdoor locations and dusk and night time portraits. Since she is very trendy and artsy, we created her portraits with a fashion photography look. Since Kira is an artist herself, she was very easy going and up for all our ideas and understood our creative vision. Have a great Senior year, Kira!

Josh, Christy, and Christian

A couple of weeks ago we photographed Josh, Christy and Christian. We captured the portraits at their house in Des Moines. Although they live on a busy street, their backyard is kind of a getaway from the busy city life. They have an old barn with a loft and many big, beautiful trees that make you feel like you're out in the country. 10 year old Christian is a very athletic and fun loving boy and had a great time playing in trees and biking during the session. The whole family is very easy going and we loved capturing their portraits in a location that is meaniful to them, their dream house. Thank you Josh, Christy and Christian for asking us to photograph your family. We look forward to seeing Christian grow up through the years.

Carla and Jess' Wedding

Congratulations Carla and Jess on getting married! Carla and Jess, their families and their entire wedding party were such a joy to work with and made the day so much fun for us. Carla was a beautiful and and elegant bride and we enjoyed capturing her bridal portraits at the Salisbury House. We have had so much fun getting to know Carla and Jess this year and we'd like to thank you both for allowing us to capture your special day. You are a great couple that complements each other so well and we think you'll have a great marriage.
